IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CLIENTS

Our obligations as your registered tax agent

Altus Partners Pty Ltd ACN 679 710 322 (Tax Agent Number 26275211) is a registered tax agent regulated by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA). Under section 45 of the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, we are required to make all current and prospective clients aware of the matters set out below.

1. The TPB Register

The TPB maintains a public register of all registered tax agents and BAS agents. You can use the register to check our registration status, any conditions on our registration, and any sanctions recorded against us.

You can search the register at www.tpb.gov.au/public-register. Our registration can be found by searching for Altus Partners Pty Ltd or Tax Agent Number 26275211.

2. How to Make a Complaint

If you have a concern about the tax agent service we have provided, you can raise it with us directly in the first instance — contact your Director or our Office Manager. If you are not satisfied with our response, or would prefer to raise the matter externally, you can make a complaint to the TPB in writing through their website.

3. Our Rights, Responsibilities and Obligations

As your registered tax agent, we are required to:

  • Act honestly and with integrity, and uphold and promote the ethical standards of the tax profession.
  • Act lawfully in your best interests, subject to our overriding duty to comply with the law.
  • Have arrangements in place to manage any conflicts of interest that may arise.
  • Not disclose information relating to your affairs to a third party without your permission, unless we are required or permitted to by law.
  • Provide our tax agent services competently, and maintain the knowledge and skills relevant to those services.
  • Take reasonable care in ascertaining your state of affairs, and in ensuring that the taxation laws are applied correctly to your circumstances.
  • Advise you of your rights and obligations under the taxation laws that are materially relevant to the services we provide.
  • Not make a statement to the Commissioner of Taxation, or to another government agency, that we know or ought to know is false, incorrect or misleading, including by omission.
  • Keep proper records relating to the tax agent services we provide to you.
  • Maintain the professional indemnity insurance required by the TPB.
  • Keep you informed of the matters set out in this document.

4. Your Obligations to Us

So that we can meet our obligations and act for you properly, you are required to:

  • Be truthful with us, and provide us with all information that is relevant to the services we are providing — including information we specifically request.
  • Provide that information within a reasonable time, and in sufficient time for us to meet any lodgement or payment deadline.
  • Keep the records required under the taxation laws, generally for at least 5 years, and make them available to us where we need them.
  • Tell us promptly if your circumstances change in a way that may affect the services we provide, or your tax position.
  • Co-operate with us in meeting your obligations under the taxation laws, and comply with those laws.
  • Be aware that you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you give us, and that the Commissioner is entitled to rely on statements made in documents we lodge on your behalf.

5. Matters We Are Required to Disclose

Under section 45 of the Determination we must tell you, with a reasonable level of detail, if any of the following prescribed events have occurred in relation to us in the last 5 years (and on or after 1 July 2022):

  • our registration was suspended or terminated by the TPB
  • we were an undischarged bankrupt, or went into external administration
  • we were convicted of a serious taxation offence
  • we were convicted of an offence involving fraud or dishonesty
  • we were serving, or were sentenced to, a term of imprisonment in Australia for 6 months or more
  • we were penalised, made subject to an injunction, or made subject to an order for breaching a voluntary undertaking, for being a promoter of a tax exploitation scheme, or for implementing or promoting a scheme in a way that is materially different from a public, private or oral ruling
  • the Federal Court has ordered us to pay a pecuniary penalty for contravening a civil penalty provision under the TASA

We must also tell you if our registration is subject to any conditions that limit the tax agent services we can provide.

Our current position

As at 22 September 2026, no prescribed event listed above has occurred in relation to Altus Partners Pty Ltd, and our registration is not subject to any conditions limiting the tax agent services we can provide.

6. Keeping This Information Current

We will update this information whenever the position changes. Where a prescribed event or a condition on our registration arises, we will tell you at the time you make an inquiry to engage or re-engage us, and otherwise within 30 days of the event.

We also review this information at least annually as part of our practice review cycle.
